About the WSMS Choirs

The Willow Springs Choir Department is dedicated to helping students reach new heights through musical experiences while also building friendships along the way. Our goal is to achieve musical excellence while also growing our students into hard-working, motivated, and caring young adults. The Willow Springs Choirs have consistently earned Sweepstakes Awards and Superior ratings at the annual UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contests. Students sing a variety of repertoire throughout the school year and enjoy performing throughout the community.

Our Choirs

The A Cappella Treble Choir is a non-auditioned choir open to 8th grade women. A Cappella women specialize in the performance of treble choir music. Previous enrollment in choir is preferred, but not required. Students in A Cappella Treble will continue development of singing, listening, sight-reading, and music theory skills. A Cappella performs as the Middle School Varsity Treble Choir at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest each year.
The Tenor Bass Choir is a non-auditioned choir open to 7th and 8th grade men. These singers perform repertoire that is specifically written for men’s choirs. Previous enrollment in choir is preferred, but not required. Students in the Tenor-Bass Choir will continue development of singing, listening, sight-reading, and music theory skills. The Tenor-Bass Choir performs at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest each year.
The Concert Treble Choir is a non-auditioned choir open to 7th grade women. Concert Treble singers specialize in the performance of treble choir music. Previous enrollment in choir is preferred, but not required. Students in Concert Treble will continue development of singing, listening, sight-reading, and music theory skills. Concert Treble performs as the Middle School Non-Varsity Treble Choir at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest each year.
Limelight is an audition-only Pop Ensemble that is open to seventh and eighth grade choir men and women. This group provides choir students an outlet to sing music of many different genres as a mixed choir. Students accepted into this ensemble must demonstrate excellence in singing, sight-reading, and leadership. Membership in this ensemble requires enrollment in a choir class. Limelight members are expected to represent the WSMS Choirs in a positive and professional manner.
CenterStage is an audition-only Pop Ensemble that is open to seventh and eighth grade choir women. This group provides choir students an outlet to sing music of many different genres as a treble choir. Students accepted into this ensemble must demonstrate excellence in singing, sight-reading, and leadership. Membership in this ensemble requires enrollment in a choir class. CenterStage members are expected to represent the WSMS Choirs in a positive and professional manner.
